The Cricut and Its Parts
Posted by Mark Cartis in Sales on November 3rd, 2009
Do you enjoy making scrapbooks, have a child at school with a lot of projects to do, make your own greeting cards or just love to craft in general? If the answer to any of those is yes you may want to hear about a wonderful machine called the Cricut Expression.
Ideal for personalizing your scrap books, school projects, decorating, card making and so much more. Perhaps the greatest thing about it is you do not have to have a computer to use it. Even though it has the appearance of a printer it does not need a pc, and since there are still some people out there that do not have computers this makes it accessible for everyone. The machine requires cartridges that are made just for it, which have the letter and shape designs on them.
No more battling with blunt or inadequate scissors! Buy the Critcut and with it you get your first two cartridges and a cutting mat. The cartridges are one of each shape and font. As soon as you wish to try new fonts and shapes there are other cartridges you can look at (78 and counting), each costing a reasonable $35.
As stated, it does not need a computer to work. However it is an advantage should you have one, as there is some software called Cricut Design Studio which has electronic font on which you can plan out what you want. It then sends this to the Cricut which will then cut out what you just designed on your computer. Other great products that go with the machine are a starter kit, different types of paper and vinyl, and more.
A very exciting add on that can be bought is the Jukebox. A Cricut uses one cartridge at a time, and when you wish to cut shapes you need to remove the font cartridge first and then replace it with the shape of your choice. The Jukebox attaches to the Cricut and fits in 6 cartridges. No more switching all the time! But wait, there’s more! The Cricut can have three Jukeboxes inserted and so you can have 18 cartridges attached and ready to be used. Truly no genuine crafter can deny that the Cricut is an essential tool not a luxury.

Raving About the Roving Cricut Gypsy
Posted by Mark Cartis in Sales on October 4th, 2009
Provo Craft are soon to release their latest item in the Cricut line, the Cricut Gypsy. It has the world of crafters and scrapbookers buzzing, particularly since there have been some clever advertising including a YouTube video. So why are people talking about the Gypsy and what exactly is it?
The Cricut Gypsy allows crafters to finally be able to carry out their hobby wherever they are, while traveling, on holiday, on their lunch break. It is named for the roving gypsies to indicate its suitability for traveler. Of course the Create and the Personal Cutter claim portability but you would not be able to sit on a plane with one! Like a palmtop PDA but for designing and creating paper craft projects the Gypsy is eight inches by three inches by one and a half inches in size and weighs a light eleven ounces.
Whichever Cricut cutting machine you own, the Gypsy is compatible with it, as it is with all cricut cartridges. You can store on it over 4000 cartridges, over 10,000 images and fonts that you can then design with. Just as with the pc software Design Studio, welding, flipping and so on. You do not need to have a computer to use it – you work straight on it and then when you return home you can then upload your work into the computer software. So if you end up in a place with no computer and no cricut machine, you can still get your crafting fix!
There is a positive response to this release though it is still not actually available to buy yet. It was due in July 2009 but it is now August and is yet to arrive. Fans are watching the Provo Craft website online for news. The information released by Provo Craft indicates it will be selling for $299.
This is not necessarily something that all cricut fans need to have. But if you have the money, being able to relax in your favorite coffee house or on the plane on your way off to some exotic place, is a great thing for avid crafters. It is something to note though that if you have limited mobility in your hands this is not something you will find easy to use as you need to use a stylus and small side buttons.

There are literally hundreds of used cars of different makes and models available for sale to match every reasonable budget. The idea is to buy a car that allows you to sleep comfortably at night and not worry about what unexpected repair and spare part costs you are going to have o deal with next. Scrutinize the car for flaws or get a reliable mechanic to do it for you. Its always wise to take the car for a drive on different kinds of roads to check its performance under different situations.
New cars tend to swiftly lose value in the first few years of operation. The percentage drop in price when selling a car that was newly bought is far more than that of a used car. This is an opportunity to loose less money when you sell your used car in the future, making second hand cars even more desirable for families on a tight budget.
Car insurance is a recurring expenditure and can contribute significantly to your expenses, depending on the value of the car you purchased. Due to their comparatively lower market value, used cars have lower insurance premiums. You can also approach your existing insurance company for a further reduction in premium as you’re providing additional business. This means additional savings for you. Keep in mind that older cars because of their lower prices have the lowest premiums.
Newspapers and popular online classifieds cater to the sale of used cars and have fresh deals day after day. The variety of used cars and the ease with which they can be found have increased and with websites offering advanced search options, you can find a particular car for your price range within minutes.
The simplicity of identifying and purchasing a used car along with a wider selection has made the benefits of buying a used car hard to ignore. Our unstable economic environment has taught us time and time again that saving for the future is critical to survive comfortably in times of hardship. The good news is that a greater variety of used cars available has minimized the number of features we have to sacrifice to own a inexpensive, reliable vehicle. You get to own your dream car and loose less hair. Who wouldn’t want that?
Always Bargain For Lower Used Car Prices
Finally, you’ve selected a bunch of used cars and are ready to call and make the final deal. However, before calling the sellers, you need to be aware of the fact that the advertised prices can be reduced through effective negotiations. Learning a few basics on how to convince a car owner to reduce their price, even if it is a few hundred dollars, will help you secure the best deal and save you some cash.
People selling their cars are most concerned about finances and being able to close the transaction as swiftly as possible. This can work in your favor if you have the ready cash to make a purchase. Let the seller know you mean business by informing him of your available finances to close the deal. This is a great way to generate interest in your pitch.
To gain further leverage, inform the car owner of how you researched your cars and the other numerous vehicles that meet your different criteria, particularly your limited budget. Just because you have the available funds does not mean you can match the price. Your range should always start under the advertised price.
Almost all advertised used cars have some form of cushion built into the price to allow for discounts without actually losing profit. Customers love the fact they have received a discount and often get hooked in making a purchase at still unreasonable prices. Make sure you choose a maximum and minimum price range that is a few percentage points apart. Use the average price of similar car as a starting point and adapt your strategy as you move along your list.
If the discussion is being dragged unnecessarily, feel free to say that you are not interested and hang up or walk away. Several times car sellers try to prolong the negotiation to lower your resistance. Walking away at this point can often result in the car owner accepting your demand, although there are no guarantees.
Remember to be true to your commitment to buy a car with features that match your specific requirements within the initial budget. Professionals can be very persuasive while selling a used car and by listing a whole bunch of features you never needed in the first place, they manage to convince you that the price is justified. What you should do is look for flaws in the car and use their own tactics to work in your favor.
Try and maintain your authority throughout your talks and there’s no harm in throwing in a bit of charisma. Try and talk about general topics or events that interest you both and praise the owner. Do not complement his cars as this could have adverse consequences. Within a few days you should be able to secure at least a handful of cars at the price you offered and land yourself a great bargain.
Use Google Pagerank and Alexa for Better Deals on Cars
Posted by Jim Carlton in Sales on August 10th, 2009
As a person who frequents online classifieds specializing in the sale of cars, I found it frustrating and a waste of time that many of the sites on the first page of Googles search results had infrequent ad postings. New ads did not show up for days in a row. I asked a more tech savvy friend of mine for help and he showed me how Alexa and Google Pagerank could help me out.
I scrapped my old browser and downloaded Firefoxs latest version. Firefox provides faster browsing speeds than most browsers, allows you to view different sites in multiple tabs or windows and saves the sites you have open whenever you close the browser. Every time you access Firefox again, the same sites are displayed and saves you a lot of time. Next I downloaded the Google Pagerank and Alexa toolbars.
Alexa is a renowned service for ranking websites globally on their daily traffic. The higher the number of visitors the higher the ranking. The statistics are displayed at the bottom of the browser in the form of a graph and numerical ranking and alongside each website in the search results on Google in the form of a green bar. You can roll your mouse over the bar to see the actual ranking.
Googles Pagerank grades websites on a scale of zero to ten and shows up in the upper section of your browser. Ten is the best score awarded and depends on a host of factors like number of visitors, how old the site is, new content and other high-ranking sites that link to it. The scores are revised after larger intervals of time.
The aim is to use the most appropriate keywords, like cars for sale, and locate sites that are rank well with in toolbars. I give Alexa priority as it shows me websites with frequent daily traffic and hence is a good indicator of car websites and classifieds that have fresh ads every day. I soon discovered that sites on the second and even third page often had a larger number and variety of ads for cars on sale. I got to explore new and far more useful sites and soon had a large resource for different cars and their prices. Finding a better deal became a whole lot easier.
The use of these tools is not restricted to the search for great deals on cars alone. It can be used practically for all the things you search for on the internet. Its simple and once you get past installing and getting acquainted with these utilities you wont want to search the web in any other way.
